Down Over 9 Pounds In 8 Days!
I recently had a wonderful experience volunteering at Isagenix Celebration in San Diego with a great group of volunteers. Additionally, I had two of the best, most positive and supportive supervisors I have ever experienced in my life. Thank you, Celina and (Uncle) Richard!
After a couple days of soreness I almost drifted back into not-so-positive habits, but as of this morning I have dropped over 9 pounds in the last 8 days. Thank you, Isagenix, and thank you to all of my fellow volunteers for the encouragement and camaraderie.
If you volunteered with me, please connect on my Facebook group (where we might kill two birds with one stone) - http://tinyurl.com/BMWKIVA . Let's take over the conversation together and encourage one another.
Have a wonderful (be filled with wonder) day!

Start Anew And Pray
Start Anew Today. I am.
Also, please pray for Woodland Park Middle School in San Marcos, California and all connected to it as they lost one of their middle schoolers last night.

EMG - We Will See
As it turns out, the assistant was wrong about needles. I didn't see any or feel any. The doctor said I appear normal with no neuropathy, so now we might get another test. Maybe I'm prediabetic. I'll see the original specialist next week. Things are good except for the tingling and pain in the hands and feet. One day at a time.

Take A Little Walk
Take A Little Walk. And - Check Out My Video - I'm Getting A Little Bit Better.
Just as I am getting a little bit better with more practice making videos, you will get better by practicing what you want to achieve. Is it exercise or something else?

Going Down To The USO
I'm meeting my friends Mary & SB at the USO later this morning. If you would like to donate food for the USO in the future, please let me know! Are you the owner of a deli, perhaps? Sandwiches would be awesome!

Cabbage Village
The cabbages continue to grow. I may have to transplant a couple soon because they are too close. Have you started a garden?

Start A Garden
I started a garden about a week ago and my Android phone finally let the photos through. Any guesses as to what I planted first?

Poker Season
Sometimes I like to play poker tournaments. A friend from church has one periodically with prizes and all the entry fees go to charity. Hopefully I'll get around to playing in it this year.
If you've read BigManWalking long you might remember that 2 years ago my wife and I went to the Bahamas because I won a free (yes, free) preliminary tournament that earned me a seat in a BIG tournament as well as the trip and most of our accomodations and airfare. There were 10,000 people in Phase One and you had to finish in the Top 18 to get a ticket to Phase Two.
In Phase Two there were 1349 people and you had to earn 1st Place in order to win the trip. Second Place got zero. Goose Egg. Nada. Not even a Starbucks coupon. I came in first place and we had a wonderful time in the Bahamas. I lasted 13 hours the first day and 15 minutes on the second. Tough competition in that tournament taught me something. I was playing too conservatively (except for my final hand)!
Now I'm working on winning a trip to Copenhagen or somewhere else in Europe.
I have a lot of experience as I worked in casinos in the early to mid '90s.
To paraphrase an advertisement from the '70s - If you gamble, play poker. If you don't, then don't start.
And, kids...stay in school!

Gardening Is Exercise!
Yesterday I cleared some space by weeding in the backyard and started to plant cabbage. I worked up a good sweat and was even a little sore in bed last night. That's a good thing.
Today I planted another cabbage plant that I got at the local nursery.
It's been a long time since I've had room to garden and it feels good to get outside and get my hands in the dirt and my head in the sunshine.
What are you doing differently in 2010?

Happy New Decade!
Wow. I guess by "tomorrow" I meant see you in 3 months.
That's OK. New Year. New Decade.
Got up earlier than I expected and read the bible a little - "Be anxious for nothing..."
Check out Philippians 4:6 if you like.
Then I prayed and took a shower.
At 11:00 I'm calling a new customer who wants more energy.
How is your New Decade/Year starting?
No matter what has come before, you can make a new start now!
Do it now!
